Buddy Miles Express – 1969
Met BUDDY MILES after playing with SIEGALL SCHWALL Band. MILES was a MITCH RYDER & THE DETROIT WHEELS fan and ask McCARTY to join his new band The EXPRESS. Intrigued by the idea of playing with a horn section agrees.
MILES leads to McCARTY meeting and becoming friends with JIMI HENDRIX who hung around MILES eventually convinving him to join his Band of Gypsys.
Along the way HENDRIX produces several of the tracks from the bands “Electric Church” album including the track co-written by McCARTY “69 Freedom Special” which went on to win a Grammy performed by Les Paul.
